SAN DIEGO COUNTY RATES:
For mediations and arbitrations in San Diego County, Mr. Roberts' half-day fee is $4,000.00 and the full day fee is $7,000.00. A half-day consists of 4 hours of session time and a full day of 8 hours in session. Travel time is included within these rates and not billed separately. Mr. Roberts typically spends 2-3 hours reading mediation briefs before every mediation session and that expense is included in the daily flat fee.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RATES:
For mediations and arbitrations outside San Diego County, Mr. Roberts’ fees are as follows:
Orange County/Riverside County/San Bernardino County/Imperial County
A flat fee of $7,500.00 per day will be charged for Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and Imperial County which is inclusive of all travel time. However, if multiple days, a $300 per night charge for lodging will be billed separately.
Los Angeles County
A flat fee of $8,000.00 per day will be charged for Los Angeles County which is inclusive of all travel time and travel expenses. However, if multiple days, a $300 per night charge for lodging will be billed separately.
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA / BAY AREA RATES:
A flat fee of $8,000.00 per day will be charged for all cases in Northern California which is inclusive of all travel time and travel expenses, which are not billed separately. However, if multiple days, a $300 per night charge for lodging will be billed separately.
Mr. Roberts normally spends time speaking with counsel and adjusters before and after mediation sessions, often meets with clients at counsel's request, and prepares recommendations and proposed orders as either the mediator and/or the discovery referee. All such work is charged separately from mediation sessions at $600 per hour.
There are no administrative
charges of any kind.
Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, fees will be divided equally among all participants and billings will be sent out before or after the mediation or at the end of the month.
REFUND OF FEES / CANCELLATION FEE:
Fees are fully refunded when notice of cancellation is received at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the scheduled date. There is a 50% cancellation charge when notice of cancellation is received more than 7 and less than 14 days before the scheduled date and the time cannot be filled with other matters on my waiting list because of insufficient notice. There is a 100% cancellation fee if the cancellation notice is received within 7 calendar days.
